On Behalf of | Feb 5, 2014 | Divorce

To remain happily married is a task that some relationships just can’t handle. Sometimes, a difficult marriage means you aren’t facing the truth and may be avoiding the facts. To know which direction your marriage is headed certainly takes more than one simple article; however there are some simple and straightforward signs that your marriage may be headed for divorce. After 21 years, one couple knew they were in trouble since the early days of their marriage.

Of course, 21 year’s worth of marital problems needed to be dealt with in those early days, instead of 21 years later when so much hurt, anger, bitterness and negative feelings have become a reality to each person involved. If you love your spouse and want to save your marriage, pay attention to the following warning signs.

If you take a look at your marriage and the cons outweigh the pros, your marriage may suffer from inactivity. In other words, a marriage can suffer from doing the same thing over and over that builds one problem on top of another. One activity that may help is to seek advice from person who specializes in this type of problem, such as a therapist. Unsolved problems can build so take the step you need to take.

If you dream of a life that doesn’t include your husband or wife, you may want to consider finding a good divorce attorney. One person who was recently divorced often daydreamed of life without her husband. Everyone does this sometimes, but if you find yourself daydreaming often, it may be time to consider splitting up. Talking to your husband or wife about this is a necessary step to possibly avoiding divorce.

If you find it hard to tell you thoughts to your husband or wife and cannot share your feelings, you may not be doing your marriage a favor. Some things need to be kept personal, but you need to share your unhappiness with your spouse. This could be a positive step to saving your marriage, unless you are afraid of abuse, verbal or physical.

If you have tried these and other tips on saving your marriage and nothing has worked, you may have a need to talk to a skilled attorney. It is a hard decision to make and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly, but an attorney can be someone in your corner who may help you see the forest for the trees.
