Man watches film on child custody, feels his own loss

On Behalf of | Jan 23, 2014 | Child Custody

After a viewing of the movie called ” Philomena,” one person was forced to face the truth about their custody issues. ” Philomena” is a movie about an Irish teenager who became pregnant and is set in earlier times when being pregnant while unmarried was a huge embarrassment to a family and often led to seclusion and feelings of guilt and shame. The BBC movie was being seen by a person who had actually had his children taken from him. None of the people around him had faced what he had faced, the loss of his children. No, they weren’t taken due to a pregnancy out-of-wedlock, there was a custody battle and he lost. He lost completely and utterly. His children were forced to choose sides due to conflict and angry words spoken by each parent and he lost. In the movie, Philomena’s child was taken from her and eventually sold to an American adoptive couple. The situation was dire, as the situation is for the man who lost all contact with his children.

If you face a divorce or child custody problems, don’t let it get this far. Contact a lawyer who can take care of you and your children. A skilled attorney in the area of child custody can make the difference between you seeing your child or not. This can be done, but it takes an experienced lawyer who is willing to go to bat for you during this vulnerable time and sensitively help you negotiate your way through a maze of tumultuous, charged emotions.
