“Cruel Intentions” star intends to take paternity test

On Behalf of | Mar 16, 2011 | Paternity

You might remember actor Ryan Phillippe best for his role as a womanizer in the move “Cruel Intentions.” You also might know him for his marriage to and then divorce from Reese Witherspoon, whom he starred with in the movie.

Phillippe and Witherspoon have two children together, ages 11 and 7, but sources report that Phillippe could have a new child on the way. Contrary to his famous role as a jerk in the 1999 movie, reports claim that the actor is respectfully accepting the fact that he could be a father again, and he has no problem taking a paternity test once the child is born.

The Daily Mail reports that Phillippe was dating 26-year-old actress Alexis Knapp last year. They are no longer dating (sources allege he is dating another younger actress), but Phillippe and Knapp could very well have an enduring relationship anyway – as parents.

Pictures show Knapp with a pregnant belly, and reports say that the baby is due sometime in June. Phillippe allegedly wants to wait to establish the paternity of the child until that time. If the DNA test proves he is the father, it means secured rights for both him and the mother.

Phillippe could establish a parent/child relationship with the baby. He seems to love being a father to his two current kids. Maybe he is excited to be a dad again and eager to confirm his rights as a father. For Knapp, proving paternity would mean Phillippe owes child support.

We will post an update when the baby comes and paternity is established.
