Child custody dispute interrupts Sheen’s other dramas

On Behalf of | Mar 2, 2011 | Child Custody

When he played “Wild Thing” in the hit Major League, casting directors likely had no idea how wild Charlie Sheen’s life would turn out. Wild, in fact, doesn’t even cover the events of the actor’s life over the past year alone. And it looks like the crazy nature of the year has resulted in the most recent drama of the star’s highly-publicized life.

According to morning reports, Sheen’s ex Brooke Mueller is not comfortable with what she’s seen of Sheen’s life lately. She doesn’t think he is fit parenting material at this time, which is why she is trying to get their two twin children out of his custody. Predictably, Sheen isn’t facing this dilemma without a fight.

After Mueller filed a restraining order against Sheen, police reportedly visited his home Tuesday night in order to take the two young boys out of his home. The restraining order was filed because Mueller claims that Sheen has recently threatened her life, a claim that echoes the violence that allegedly took place previously between the couple in Colorado.

Sheen is prohibited from going within 100 yards of his soon-to-be ex-wife. What is really bothering the star, however, is that Mueller has taken the kids away and thinks that she can provide a better home for them. Mueller has reportedly struggled with addiction, and Sheen is confident that he and his two live-in girlfriends can provide the kids the loving environment they need.

But while Sheen makes that argument, coming off his recently broadcasted interview with ABC News, critics are having a hard time believing his house could be any better than Mueller’s. With two blonde girlfriends living with him and helping him care for the twins, people are comparing Sheen’s home to the Playboy mansion. And somehow, the mansion just doesn’t seem like the best place for children.

We will keep you posted when there are new developments in this story. While it is easy to treat celebrity stories as mere fun, in reality, there are kids in the middle of this dispute, and they deserve someone to truly act in their best interests.
