Not even one year ago, Elisabeth Moss, 28, and Fred Armisen, 43, were married. Moss described the proposal from the “Saturday Night Live” cast member as “perfect,” and they were married in front of their loved ones after having dated each other for less than a year.
But the marriage between the “Mad Men” starlet and “SNL” comedian barely lasted longer than either of those shows’ seasons. Sources report that in June of this year, the relationship’s end began when the high-profile couple separated. And as of Monday, Moss is rumored to have filed divorce papers. The reason for divorce reportedly noted on the documents is that Moss wants out of the marriage due to “irreconcilable differences.”
Sources suspect that one of those “differences” might be Moss’ religion. She allegedly is extremely devoted to Scientology, and some believe that might have divided the couple in the relationship. According to one source, when it came to Scientology, Armisen “could not get with it,” and that difference in lifestyles caused “issues” within the newlyweds’ marriage.
This will be Armisen’s second divorce, and in a move that has the media buzzing, Armisen allegedly started dating another younger “SNL” costar shortly after he and Moss separated. This was Moss’ first marriage, and she is reportedly making strong moves in the divorce. Sources claim that she has requested that she not be required to pay Armisen any spousal support once the divorce is final.
