Is Jesse James’ Post-Divorce Move to Texas Caring or Creepy?

On Behalf of | Jul 15, 2010 | Child Custody, Divorce

It’s the never-ending love-gone-bad story of Jesse James and Sandra Bullock. One might think that with their Texas divorce being finalized weeks ago and Bullock publically asking if everyone could just move on, that the saga would be over. James, however, is making a move–literally–that places their story back in the forefront of the news.

James, the celebrity motorcycle man, just purchased a nearly $2 million home in Austin, Texas. Bullock, now another ex-wife to add to James’ list, lives in Austin currently with her adopted son Louis. While it is true that she and James lived in the Texas town during their five-year marriage, some think that James is overstepping his bounds and not giving her enough space by officially relocating to the city.

James claims that the move is primarily for his kids, namely Sunny, the youngest of his three children whom he wants to continue a relationship with Bullock. James’ other ex-wife, Janine Lindemulder is challenging the move with Sunny in a child custody dispute.

She argues that even though James might truly want Bullock to be a part of his kids’ lives, the fact that she lives away from them in Texas proves she is not interested in seeing them. For that reason, Lindemulder believes James is lying about his true intentions and that he actually wants to be closer to Bullock for his benefit, not Sunny’s.

She also alleges that James told her he had another mistress in Austin, and she doesn’t think it is in the best interest of Sunny for her to move from California to Texas with her dad so he can be closer to a mistress. Their child custody hearing is in progress this week, and we will update you when decisions are made.

Being that James has already purchased an estate in Texas, it certainly looks like he plans to move. If the judge says he can’t bring Sunny with him, however, it will be interesting to see whether he will still make the move. His actions in that scenario could give everyone a clearer idea of his true intentions behind relocating to Texas.
