Divorce has accusations flying in Texas

In a divorce case, accusations are flying, and they ring true no matter where you happen to live. A Wal-Mart heiress is accusing her ex-husband of theft. He allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of wages from a retail operation. He states that she is only trying to deflect attention from her own wrong-doing which involves cheating on him.

The two were married in Columbia in 2008. The lavish wedding involved a tent that resembled a cathedral and another for the reception that had velvet walls. It was said to be over-the-top. She wore two couture gowns on her wedding night.

A civil lawsuit accompanies the divorce filing on March 7, 2014. The reason for the divorce is irreconcilable differences.

The civil suit specifies that the ex-husband talked his wife into hiring a friend as a manager along with himself, and then they became contractors and paid themselves $70,000 a month. He also took $250,000 a year in order to provide management to the project they were involved in.

The two parties are making a media circus out of the divorce and are seemingly trying out which accusations will work in court filings. He says that the smear campaign is baseless and she says that the extra-marital affair is fabricated and untrue. She also states that he is attempting to grab as much collateral as he can.

The interesting part of the marriage is that there is a prenuptial agreement in place that not only protects the heiress from extravagant claims from her spouse, but also provides spousal support for her husband. She does not dispute the claim he is making regarding spousal support.

The heiress is the youngest daughter to Bud Walton, who was brother to Sam Walton and was also his business partner.

It is always a shock to find that you aren't compatible with your spouse and that things aren't working out like you wanted them to. A professional can help you frame up what you need to protect and what is negotiable.
