Halle Berry will turn to odd source during child custody dispute

In the past, we have written about the child custody dispute between Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry and her ex-boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry. The couple was never married but had a daughter together during their temporary romance.

A previous post about the celebrity dispute covered how the child custody battle was getting more heated because of an altercation that occurred between Aubry and the family nanny. He was accused of getting violent toward the nanny while the child was present. Another layer has been added to the child custody case.

It didn't take long for Berry to move on to another relationship after her split with Aubry. She is now engaged to a different celebrity, actor Olivier Martinez. He's got roots in France, and Berry reportedly would like her and Aubry's daughter to put some roots into that European soil. She claims that getting out of the U.S. and into France would protect the child from stalker paparazzi.

Recently, a video of Berry yelling at an individual paparazzo outside of her daughter's school got out to the press. She was noticeably angry that the photographer would sit outside of her child's school and wait to get a picture of the girl. But that paparazzo who made her so angry could now help make her child custody argument.

According to TMZ, Berry and her legal team plan to put the photographer on the stand during an upcoming child custody hearing this month. They want to ask the man about norms regarding shooting pictures of children in the states and specifically how far he has gone or would go to get a picture of a star's family.

In France, there are stricter rules governing the photographing of children. Berry wants to take her daughter there to protect her from the stressful environment of the U.S. where paparazzi are free to nearly harass their subjects. She believes that living in France would serve the best interests of the child.

With any child custody case, the ultimate decision must come down to what is in the best interest of the child. It is obvious that both parents in this case are fighters and passionate when it comes to their daughter. The court will have to see through the drama and celebrity status of the parents and objectively determine what will be the healthiest, most stable situation for the child in this case.
